Publication Day for The Rome Zoo
I am particularly thrilled to see my translation of Pascal Janovjak's "The Rome Zoo" published by Black Inc this month. It is an exquisite book, from its stunning cover with Audubon's magnificent flamingo through to its fable-like narrative. Sadly, we have not been able to host a launch party due to ongoing lockdown restrictions. One day we will be able to celebrate in person. In the meantime, grab yourselves a copy of this 'fantastical, historical and allegorical' work, 'tender and hopeful but also cynical and cruel' as Fiona Wright noted in her review in The Saturday Paper, August 21-27, 2001 edition. Winner of the prestigious Swiss Literature Award, the Prix Michel-Dentan and the Prix du public de la RTS.
